Asda RNLI cheque

FUNDRAISING efforts to build a new RNLI station in Weston got an extra boost this week.

The RNLI is running a £300,000 appeal to build the lifeboat station at Madeira Cove by Marine Lake. It will apply for planning permission to build at the site later this year.

Customers for Asda in Phillips Road voted for the RNLI to receive £200 for the store under its green token scheme.

Asda’s community life champion Rachel Mansfield handed over the cheque to Weston RNLI’s fundraising chairman Peter Elmont.
