AN EXTRA £5,000 has been added to Brent Knoll's parish budget.

AN EXTRA £5,000 has been added to Brent Knoll's parish budget.

No specific projects have been earmarked for the £25,000 cash, but half of the money will be held back for 'reserves' in case of an emergency.

Parish clerk Owen Cullwick said: "A couple of years ago we needed the reserves for a public inquiry regarding the wind farm, so it's a requirement to keep about £13,000 back just in case."

The village will also soon see the Local Initiative Grants put to use as three projects have been allocated the funds.

The money went towards a revamp of the village website, which is nearly complete, a deep clean of the memorial stone in the church yard and a new picnic table for the village green.
