MORE THAN £1,000 has been donated to charity thanks to a summer fete in Brean.
Warren Farm Holiday Centre, in Warren Road, held its annual fete on Saturday, raising a total of £1,073.67 for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
Mike Harris, the centre’s director, said: “We’re thrilled to have raised this amount for the air ambulance, and a huge thanks goes out to everybody who supported the event.
“We couldn’t have wished for a better day, crowds of people soaked up the sunshine while enjoying entertainment and joining in the festivities, all for a worthy cause.”
One unusual way to cool off during the fete came thanks to a ‘dunk tank’, where fearless volunteers were suspended above a tank of water and plunged into the pool below when others managed to hit a special target.
Mr Harris said: “The dunk tank was very popular and we had a lot of volunteers willing to get involved. It was a great day all round.”
