POLICE are warning motorists visiting North Somerset beauty spots to remove valuables from their vehicles. The warning follows an increase in thefts from cars in Leigh Woods and Ashton Court over the past few weeks.PC Paul Morris said: "Thieves are specifically targeting beauty spots because people are not removing their valuables."A number of these offences happened because people left property openly on view in their cars, on the dashboard or on the seats."This turns vehicles into a shop window for opportunist thieves."With the nice weather, lots of people will be taking advantage of the many beauty spots North Somerset has to offer."People should not leave any valuables on view in their vehicles and remove their satellite navigations systems."A full range of crime prevention advice can be found on the force website at www.avonandsomerset.police.uk.
