Wells MP James Heappey has said he wants to know the implications Brexit will have on farming and in the South West.
Mr Heappey – whose constituency includes Burnham and Highbridge – is seeking clarity from the Government about what changes will be introduced when the UK leaves the European Union.
He says he does not want farmers to ‘suffer in silence’ on the issue.
Mr Heappey said: “I welcome the chancellor’s announcement that the current agricultural funding will be maintained until 2020.
“We need to make sure farmers, who are notorious for suffering in silence in the solitude of their tractors, get a seat at the table to come forward with ideas about what the market needs to look like post-Brexit.”
