JOHNNY Nash’s hit song ‘I can see clearly now’ and All Saints’ ‘Black coffee’ were among a favourite collection of tracks picked by Weston MP John Penrose.

Mr Penrose also chose Rolling Stones’ ‘Paint it’ and Chumbawumba’s ‘I get knocked down’ for a special Desert Island Disc show on Weston Hospital’s radio station, Sunshine Radio.

Based on BBC Radio 4’s popular programme, the one-hour slot gave the minister the chance pick his favourite music.

He said: “It’s always a privilege to visit and, because I like lots of different styles of music, I hope everyone could find a few tunes to enjoy during the show.”

Chairman of the radio station, Sue Walker, said: “It was fantastic having John in the studio talking about his favourite music.”
