A GOVERNMENT Severn Barrage Study Forum was held last week to discuss how best to utilise the power of the Severn estuary.
Weston MP John Penrose attended the meeting to clarify what impact the development could have on Weston from an environmental, economic and transport perspective.
The feasibility study is being carried out by the Government to compare the various competing technologies for harnessing the power of the Severn estuary, including a barrage and tidal lagoons.
Seaside towns such as Weston will be greatly affected by the plans.
It will take two years for the study to be completed and another five to 10 years to build the eventual choice.
