WESTON Museum could extend its opening hours and open on a Sunday.

The suggestion to extend current hours from 11am-4pm to 10am-4.30pm was made by Weston Town Council’s facilities manager Patrick Joel at the authority’s meeting on Monday after he said current opening hours discouraged visitors from attending for morning coffee or after school.

A further proposition was to close the Burlington Street facility on Mondays, but open on Sundays in order to widen the number of visitors.

After the council voted in favour of expressing an interest in the projected changes, officers will now prepare reports on the practicality of the proposal.
