YOUNGSTERS interested in spinning the decks for a living as a DJ or becoming a professional musician can take part in some music workshops in Nailsea.

Anyone aged 11-18 with an interest in the music industry can listen to professional drummer, James Hester, and other music-makers about composing tunes, live performances and how to get into the business.

The event is being held in Nailsea Youth House on February 22 and is being funded by the Lottery and organised by North Somerset Council's Arts Development team.

People can go along from 10.30am-3pm to listen to guest speakers and demonstrations and try their hand at DJing.

From 7.30-9m there will be a free acoustic showcase event at the venue in the High Street with young musicians from across North Somerset.
