Village councillors want to add names to a World War One memorial.
East Brent Parish Council has applied to Segemoor District Council for listed building consent to inscribe the names of six soldiers from the village who died during the conflict on the structure in Old Bristol Road.
Research into service records found the men were eligible to be included on the memorial.
Colin Loader, chairman of the East Brent Parish History Group, said: “Members of the East Brent Parish History Group have prepared a written record of the East Brent servicemen who served in the Great War.
“This research provided sufficient evidence to show a number of East Brent servicemen were eligible to be named on the war memorial but were not included at the time.
“This proposal is to correct this omission by adding their names to the blank panel.”
The memorial was completed in 1921 three years after the war finished.
