WESTON’S seafront made a national TV appearance this week with the BBC morning weather broadcast from the town’s sand sculpture festival.

BBC Breakfast’s weather team visited Weston on Monday morning and presented their bulletins using the impressive models as a backdrop.

A BBC spokesman said: “We thought Weston-super-Mare and its sand sculptures would make a spectacular backdrop for Carol’s forecast on what was expected to be one of the warmest days of the year in some places around the country.”

Temperatures in Weston hit 14 degrees on Monday, but reached as high as 17 in other areas of the UK.
