Neighbourhood area for Congresbury?
PUBLISHED: 12:00 27 July 2015
A NEW village hall in Congresbury could be a step closer to being built, after the parish council submitted a request to designate the entire village as a neighbourhood area.
Once approved, the application would mean plans to build a new village hall at the King George V Playing Fields in Stonewell Drive can be progressed through a Community Right to Build Order – which would see the plans benefit from a grant of more than £20,000.
The application would also mean the parish council could prepare a neighbourhood plan, which would help to shape the parish in forthcoming years and would be used to help make decisions on planning applications within Congresbury.
As part of the application process, residents of Congresbury are being invited to have their say on which area is to be included – which would also be the area covered in any future neighbourhood plan for the village.
