PLANS to build a bungalow in a cottage garden have sparked strong objections from neighbours.

Proposals for a single-storey house behind Mulberry Cottage in Bleadon prompted 20 objections on North Somerset Council’s planning portal, including one from the parish council.

Trees, undergrowth and a garden shed will need to be removed to make way for the new three-bedroom bungalow and vehicle access, if the plans are approved.

The site is in the centre of Bleadon and is surrounded by neighbouring properties as well as being close to the church and community halls.

Bleadon Parish Council cited ‘over-development of the site’ and ‘extremely poor access’ as two reasons why they do not support the scheme.

The plans will be scrutinised by North Somerset planning officers at 4pm this afternoon (Wednesday) at the Town Hall in Walliscote Road.
