New allotment access agreed

A NEW access route to Weston's allotments has been agreed after a sett of badgers destroyed the original entrance last year.

Weston Town Council has reached an agreement with North Somerset Council to change the access to the Hutton Moor allotments, subject to cost.

The usual access can no longer be used to due subsidence caused by burrowing badgers, which meant the surface was weakened. Access will now be gained from the roundabout in Hutton Moor Road into the leisure centre and turning immediately right.

North Somerset has agreed to let the town council use the land at no cost, so the town council now needs to get quotes for the work to see if it is affordable before the legalities are agreed.
