A new type of cycling experience is being added to the list of challenges keen cyclists can take part in at an outdoor festival.
The National Trust's Top Of The Gorge festival is offering up road cycling as another way to see the gorge which follows the path taken through the area by the Tour of Great Britain.
Visitors to the festival can follow in the tyre tracks of the professionals as The Mendips Lakes and Lumps Ride is launched.
Dan McKimm from the Great Western Ride said: “In keeping with the festival as a whole, the emphasis is very much on introducing people to the sheer pleasure and enjoyment to be had from being active in this beautiful area, and the ride is designed to appeal to as many people as possible – from cycling novices to regular riders, and regardless of type of bike and clothing.”
The festival, through Cheddar Gorge, will run from June 14-16.
