Blagdon will be less isolated from its neighbouring towns when two new bus routes are introduced at the beginning of next month.

Citistar has announced it will run two new routes through the village.

The 128 service will run from Blagdon to Clevedon and Nailsea every Thursday from September 4, and the 135 will run between Blagdon and Weston every Friday from September 5.

North Somerset Council’s executive member for transport Elfan Ap Rees said: “The introduction of these services significantly increases the journey choices available to Blagdon residents, helping to promote social inclusion in this rural area.”

Andy Fear of Citistar said: “These services represent a real step forward for residents of Blagdon.

“I hope these new services will be well supported by local residents, which will enable us to make further improvements to bus services in the area.”
