A new group in Highbridge offers sufferers of chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD) the chance to speak to a medical professional to gain advice about the condition.

The Burnham and Highbridge COPD group drop-in sessions are taking place at the Southwell House community centre in Highbridge and will be held on the second Monday of every month.

COPD covers lung diseases such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema.

Community Agent for Burnham and Highbridge, Steve Ballinger, said: “Over the coming months we’ll have a range of professionals coming to the group offering advice on subjects like exercise, diet and the correct use of inhalers.

“With this information readily available, it will further help people to better manage the effects of COPD.”

The next group session will be held on July 9.

For further details about the COPD support group, call Steve on 07746 340541 or Kim Wilcox on 07943 555519.
