WORLE Community School is set to benefit from £20,000 worth of new equipment.
The Department of Trade and Industry, together with Barclaycard, will pay for a renewable energy system to be installed as part of the Solar4Schools initiative.
More than 100 schools entered the draw to get the free equipment from solar energy company Solarcentury.
The winners were chosen at random by an independent panel and the schools are awaiting structural surveys before new solar panels are installed on the roof.
Soalr4Schools, run by Solarcentury, is a partly funded by the Government with the rest of the cash coming from Barclaycard.
