A FAIRTRADE café has opened in Axbridge for the community to enjoy homemade cake and refreshments.

The Axbridge Community Café is one of the charities launched by the new Mayor of Axbridge, John Albone alongside his wife, Sue.

Axbridge’s Chamber of Commerce was the driving force in the town having its Fairtrade status reinstated and made a donation to the café’s set up costs.

The café, in the Church Rooms, The Square, will be run by a total of 18 volunteers on Tuesdays from 2-4pm and Fairtrade items are also available to purchase.
