Alan Peak has become the new Mayor of Weston-super-Mare, taking over the chain of office from Raymond Armstrong at a mayor-making ceremony last week.

Cllr Peak is a Labour councillor and he represents the Bournville ward on Weston Twon Council. He has lived in the town his whole life and has been a member of Weston’s Coastguard for 10 years.

Fellow Labour councillor Catherine Gibbons said: “Alan loves helping people – especially in Weston, and I am sure he will bring to the role the commitment and enthusiasm he has brought to everything he does.”
