PLANS for a new £2.5million health centre in Berrow have been unveiled.
PLANS for a new £2.5million health centre in Berrow have been unveiled.
The 14,000 sq ft campus-style centre would include a new doctor's surgery, a dental surgery, pharmacy and a mental health unit for the elderly.
At a public meeting last week, staff from Burnham Medical Centre explained the plans to residents and patients.
Burnham partner Dr Harvey Sampson said: "We are extremely enthusiastic about these plans, which will allow us to introduce new community services, in addition to the Burnham Medical Centre in Love Lane."
A planning application for the Brent Road site will be submitted to Sedgemoor District Council. If the proposals are given the go-ahead, the centre could be up and running by the end of 2009.
The plans have been designed by Bristol-based company GVA Grimley, incorporating Osmond Tricks.
