A PUB in Locking has undergone a complete refurbishment with 'chic' new decor and changes to the menu.

The work has been carried out at the Coach House in Manor Gardens, with expert tradesmen taking two weeks to complete the transformation.

The finished article was unveiled to villagers during an official opening event last week, where visitors were also invited to sample food from the new-look menu.

Manager Martina Pope said: “We have had a total refurbishment.

“It is a real family-orientated pub with good food and live entertainment.

“The new look is very chic. The decor and the food is a lot better and we have a new chef coming in to do some new stuff.

“We have a skittle alley and we are also providing children’s skittle parties.”

Martina will already be known to many people in the area, having previously managed other venues in and around Weston, including the Super Mare at Weston Gateway Business Park and Catherine’s Inn in Bleadon.

A newly-launched flame grill section of the menu includes dishes like gammon and chicken, and skewers are also available.

Among the additions at the Locking watering hole, which is owned by Greene King, are a weekly quiz, curry nights, karaoke nights, live bands and children’s entertainment.
