A NEW pharmacy has opened in Locking.

Pharmacist Martin Taylor has launched Locking Pharmacy in Grenville Avenue, and the new business is open six days a week.

It currently has four staff members and will offer prescription delivery in the new year, as well as other services such as blood pressure monitoring and products to help people stop smoking.

Axbridge-based Mr Taylor has launched the pharmacy with the help of his partner, Rachel Chambers, who helped him with its design and will continue to help him.

She said: “Martin has always wanted to run his own pharmacy, and so we did a lot of research to work out where it should be.

“We realised Locking has a lot of elderly people and young families but no pharmacy, so it just seemed that it would be the right place. It’s the whole package – it’s not just going to be somewhere for people to get their prescriptions.”
