EXCITING new play park equipment has been installed at Riverside Green in Banwell.

Last week residents joined forces with Touch Wood Enterprises in a community workshop to get the scheme off the ground.

Most of the cost is being met by North Somerset Council, using money raised through the sale of the village’s West Street toilet block.

The work, including the installation of safety matting, was finished on Friday and signed off by a safety inspector this week.

Touch Wood held a workshop in June which allowed residents to get involved with helping to build a bench for the play area.

The company gathered views and comments on what sort of new play structure people would like to see and, after reaching an agreement, returned to build the final piece.
