A new sexual health service for people living in North Somerset has launched.

Unity Sexual Health is a new service involving seven health organisations across Weston, North Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire, including Weston General Hospital.

University Hospitals Bristol (UHB) is leading the service and it is hoped people will benefit from a unified approach between the seven organisations. A new online, self-testing kit will be available to people in the area.

Dr Helen Wheeler, clinical lead and sexual health consultant at Unity Sexual Health said: “We are thrilled to be able to offer a range of new sexual health initiatives to the people of Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire such as online self-testing.

“The kits will allow people to STI test at home and so offers them more privacy and control over their sexual health and wellbeing.”

People can also access a telephone advice service by calling 01173 426900.
