A Highbridge school has revealed its new student uniform.

Prefects at The King Alfred School, in Burnham Road, are already wearing the new outfit which includes a tie and blazer.

The school’s uniform currently consists of just shirts and jumpers.

New year seven students who join the school in September 2018 will wear the new uniform while students in other year groups will be able to choose which uniform they wear.

Headteacher Denise Hurr said: “The uniform looks absolutely tremendous and we are delighted to be able to show it off this year with the prefects.”

The school is currently being supported by the Priory Learning Trust after being rated as inadequate by Ofsted following an inspection in April.

The trust’s executive principal, Neville Coles, said: “High uniform standards are really important at all our schools.”
