Rev Roger Jackson, aged 50, is moving to the church in St Johns Road from Buckinghamshire, where he has been the vicar of three parishes for 13 years.

Rev Jackson is married to Susan, a teaching assistant, and they have two children aged 21 and 19.

The previous vicar of St John's, David Smith, was jailed for five-and-a-half years last May for sexually abusing six boys over a 30-year period. Father Victor Barley has been looking after the church for the past 18 months.
