Streetlife users were in high spirits this week as they shared Christmas wishes and began thinking about their New Year's resolutions for 2017.

Every December people begin to fill up on luxury treats and spend time with their loved ones.

But with January around the corner, many people will be looking for new ways to improve themselves or achieve their goals in 2017.

Streetlifers discussed what they plan on doing to better themselves in the new year.

Pete B hopes to pack in smoking and drinking, as well as come to terms with the events of 2016.

He said: “To accept Brexit and get on with it, even though I do not like it.

“Also, not to take Donald Trump too seriously. The upside of this joker running things stateside is it will be marvellous material for Have I Got News For You, so it is not all bad.”

Margaret C hopes to help her husband get a kidney transplant in the new year and she hopes to spend less time stressed,

She added: “I look forward to my grandkids’ milestones and encourage them going forward.

“I would like to learn something new and try and do one thing at a time – which is hard for me.”

Mary will be having an operation in the new year and hopes it will be her last.

She said: “I want to get back to cycling, walking and going out. Then I can get fit again and enjoy life.”
