LOCAL NHS services have been streamlined this month as the new NHS South of England board met for the first time.
The new body incorporates NHS South West, NHS South Central and NHS South East Coast – the equivalent of more than 13million people.
And they will be responsible for overseeing an annual budget of £20.7billion and around 284,000 NHS staff.
This month the original 10 regional authorities have been clustered together to form four larger ones which is hoped with improve care quality while keeping costs down.
