Nigel to tackle bowls fun day

A FORMER England rugby player from Weston will open proceedings at a village bowls club's charity day this weekend.

Nigel Redman played his club rugby at Bath and represented England from 1984 to 1997. He was a member of England’s World Cup squads in 1987 and 1991.

On Sunday Nigel, who began his career at Weston RFC, will open Banwell Bowls Club’s fun day at The Pond in Church Street at 10.30am.

The event will feature plenty of matches plus other games and stalls selling homemade produce.

Money raised will go to the Guide Dogs for the Blind.
