Nightstop open eve to help the homeless

PUBLISHED: 20:00 13 June 2014

A NIGHTSTOP open evening will be held in
Weston next week to help spread the word about work done through the scheme.

Nightstop was set up by Depaul UK and works on getting homeless young people aged 16-24 off the streets and into a safe environment through emergency accommodation.

The organisation’s North Somerset branch is also putting out an appeal for hosts around the town and district, as it currently only has two in Weston, which is not enough to help the dozens of homeless people in the area.

The Nightstop open evening will provide the opportunity to meet current volunteer hosts and drivers and give visitors the chance to find out more about the scheme.

The event will be held at YMCA in Bristol Road Lower, Weston, on June 19 from 7-9pm.

For more information contact Nightstop’s North Somerset co-ordinator Laura Kirk on or call 01934 629787.
