PLASTIC collections in Winscombe, run by The Zero Waste Group, have had to be stopped.
The monthly collections, held at Sandford Road car park, had in the past filled two industrial sized skips of residents' plastic waste.
Due to this being such a small amount compared to other industrial operations, the transport firm used by the group no longer has the resources to deal with these collections economically.
The Zero Waste Group is now seeking alternative ways of handling plastic waste.
A meeting in Winscombe Community Centre, on August 29, will discuss the lessons learned by these collections that in total gathered more than 10 tonnes of plastic.
Explanations will also be given to the public for why the collections have stopped.
