A RETIRED doctor is praying the weather takes a turn for the worse so he can dust off his Nordic skis and is looking for people to join him.

Richard Lawson, aged 65, is on the lookout for keen skiers of any ability to come and tackle slopes in Churchill with him.

Whilst anyone interested would need their own ski equipment, Richard said he would be happy to offer tips and he said it was a novel way of keeping yourself fit over the winter months.

Despite the mild temperatures he is still hoping of hitting Dolberrow hill again this year which has yielded more skiing than you might expect.

He said: “The last five years I have had some good skiing every year because you get good snow on the Mendips. Last year I had five days of it.”

Anyone interested in joining Richard can contact him on 01934 853606.
