North Somerset Council is seeking people’s views on safeguarding the future of an Iron Age hill fort in Weston.

Worlebury Hill Fort, in Weston Woods, is owned and managed by the authority.

Following an independent archaeological condition survey earlier this year, the council has produced a plan for the site’s future management.

The survey, funded by a Heritage Lottery Fund grant, was commissioned to identify specific threats and risks to the monument and recommend solutions to protect it.

Cllr Peter Bryant, the council’s executive member responsible for parks and green spaces, said: “The plan has been prepared following detailed investigations from consultants and is intended to help us to protect and preserve this incredibly valuable monument.”

Public consultation runs until 5pm on November 9.
