A former social worker who helped North Somerset's children and families for decades is in contention for three national awards.
Recently-retired Jenny Slee has been praised for her 30 years of service with North Somerset Council, being nominated for a trio of prizes at the Social Worker Awards.
Jenny is in line for the lifetime achievement, team leader and social work values prizes, with the ceremony set to take place in late-November.
She also made the shortlist for the lifetime achievement award at the Adoption Week Awards ceremony, which took place on October 16.
Jenny is ‘honoured and delighted’ to be recognised.
She said: “I’ve had the great fortune to work with colleagues who have acted professionally and tirelessly with the sole aim of making a positive difference.”
Jan Barber, the council’s executive member for children’s services, said: “This is an outstanding achievement and something to be very proud of.”
