North Somerset Council will hold an emergency management drop-in session next week.

Visitors will be able to find out more about the Community Resilience North Somerset programme at Weston-super-Mare Town Hall, in Walliscote Grove Road.

Volunteers are particularly needed to help with welfare and shelter, evacuation, emergency feeding, flooding and transport issues.

A council spokesman said: “The ability to help your community in a time of crisis, whether that be organising emergency resources or making that all important cup of tea, cannot be underestimated.

“So come along, meet the team and learn about how, together, we can become more resilient to emergencies which may affect North Somerset.”

No previous experience is required as training will be given.

The session will run at the Town Hall from 11am-3pm on Tuesday.
