An enforcement van belonging to North Somerset Council was driven the wrong way up a one-way road in Weston-super-Mare this week.

The picture, sent into the Mercury, shows the van parked in Palmer Street in the opposite way to all the other vehicles in the street.

The driver, when questioned by a resident, said they were not aware the road was one-way.

MORE: £138k in parking fines paid in three months since return of wardens.

A council spokesman said: “We are investigating this and appropriate action will be taken.”

Palmer Street is one of a number of roads in the town centre within the on-street parking enforcement zone.

It means people must pay £2.50 to park for two hours on Monday to Saturday from 9am-6pm.
