COWBOYS from the Wild West, soldiers from World War One and marines from the American Revolution all rubbed shoulders during a re-enactment event.

North Somerset Re-enactment Festival was held at the weekend at Court Farm Country Park in Banwell.

The farm was transformed into an interactive history lesson as visitors took a tour through different eras.

More than 15 different groups selected a time period, went to the festival and set up camp before eating, dressing and living just as people in their chosen era would have.

The Confederate And Union Re-enactment Society showed people what life was like in the American Civil War, while the Wyoming Wild Bunch brought the American West from 1800-1900 back to life.

History fans donned military garb to depict The War of the Roses, the English Civil War and The Hundred Years War, as well as other famous historical conflicts.

There was also entertainment in the evening in the saloon bar with live music from the swing and big band era as well as country and western and rock ‘n’ roll from the 1950s-1960s.
