There will be multiple road closures across North Somerset in the next few weeks, while work is carried out to paint road markings on routes which have recently been resurfaced.

Sandmead Road and Churchill Green, in Winscombe, will be closed from 9.30am-3.30pm on Monday.

On Wednesday North Somerset Council will close roads in Congresbury to carry out surface dressing work to Smallway and Frost Hill.

In each case, the roads will be closed from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

On August 14 there will be work taking place in Loxton, Winscombe, Hutton and Kewstoke.

The council’s executive member with responsibility for highways, Elfan Ap Rees, said: “We’re working with our contractors to get the road markings replaced as soon as we can after the surface dressing treatment has been carried out.

“Markings on the busy, main routes will take priority and get repainted first.”
