Slimming World members and consultants from across North Somerset took part in a fundraising walk in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Forty seven members signed up for the five-mile walk along the seafront.

The walkers raised more than £350 for the cause.

Slimming World Consultant Debbie Orwell said: “It never ceases to amaze me the level of support our members show when it comes to supporting good causes.

“Despite having to battle the rain and wind on Sunday they showed huge commitment.”

Anita Griffin, from Weston, was one of the fundraisers who took part in the event. She has lost 2st 10lbs since joining the Slimming World group in Locking Castle.

She said: “I’ve been aiming to reach 10,000 steps per day since achieving my target weight. Thanks to the filling and tasty food I’m eating and the fact I’ve lost weight, I have so much more energy now and I was ready to smash this challenge.”
