RESIDENTS in a Worle street will get a good night's sleep after a nuisance neighbour has been evicted by housing association North Somerset Housing. The resident in Becket Road had previously signed a good neighbour contract after a series of incidents, but neighbours continued to be disturbed throughout the night by loud music, people trying to get into the flat and a violent domestic disturbance which resulted in the resident's arrest for attempted arson.North Somerset Housing has successfully gained an injunction against the resident, preventing them from entering their property for a period of six months. North Somerset Housing chief executive Clive Bodley said: "We don't take such tough action lightly, but when our law-abiding residents can't sleep at night because of the noise and are fearful of what else may happen, we believe that it is they who we should be looking to protect. "That is why we have appointed an antisocial behaviour officer who can concentrate on dealing with this type of problem which can cause misery to our tenants. "This problem has been resolved by working with the residents, environmental health team and the police. We are also thankful that the judge saw fit to support our actions.
