Nursery and medical hub to be built in North Somerset?

Congresbury Parish Council says plans to build a nursery alongside a new medical centre on the outskirts of the village are inappropriate.
The Mendip Vale Medical Practice wants to combine its Yatton and Congresbury practices at a new site in Smallway, which could also include a nursery – and this idea was discussed by the council’s planning committee on July 25.
The council said: “The committee believes a nursery is not compatible with a medical centre. The proposed nursery would increase the traffic during peak times of the day, adding to the traffic congestion at the Smallway junction and other key points.
“It is considered that no proposals of this nature can be considered without appropriate changes to the Smallway junction which incorporate safe ways to access the site by sustainable means, including walking and cycling.”
The medical centre proposals will be discussed at a public meeting on August 11, at Hangstones Pavilion in Stowey Road, Yatton.
