YOUNGSTERS at the Honeytree Day Nursery waved Union Jacks as they helped launch a jubilee-inspired event.

Marie Curie Cancer Care was launching its Blooming Great Tea Party initiative, where people can host their own jubilee parties on June 8 to raise money for the charity.

Judi Fraser, a nursery nurse at Honeytree, which is based at Weston General Hospital in Uphill, said: “The children can’t wait to raise money by holding their tea party. They’ve been learning all about the royal family and what the Diamond Jubilee is about.”

Charity fundraiser Lucy Stockall said: “Hosting a Blooming Great Tea Party is a great excuse to invite friends round you’ve not seen for a while and have a good catch-up whilst raising money for a worthwhile cause.”
