A SHUT-DOWN nursing home in the centre of Weston looks set to be turned into seven homes.

Walliscote Manor Residential Home, in Walliscote Road, accommodated for 16 residents, but last year it ceased trading.

Now, developer Beaconsfield Homes want to create five two-bed flats and two one-bed flats at the site.

In a planning application submitted to North Somerset Council, the firm said there would be no changes to the building apart from a replacement flat roof on a rear extension.

The developer also said the homes would be suited for professionals working in the town centre.

The building is situated next to residential properties and a children’s nursery.

North Somerset Council hopes to make a decision on the planning application by the end of March.
