Peter Betteridge – a trader who featured in the Mercury back in 1966 – has died at the age of 81.
He ran Betteridge Brothers in Weston for 48 years with his siblings.
Peter did leave the firm for three years when he was called up to the national service in the Royal Air Force but stayed until its closure in 1966.
Peter is survived by his wife Margaret, sons Timothy and Jonathan and daughter Phillipa, as well as six grandchildren.
