October temperatures could soar in Weston

After a topsy-turvy summer of weather, Weston-super-Mare is set to bask in balmy autumn sunshine as temperatures are predicted to reach high levels for October.
With average heat throughout September, staying between 16C and 18C, it looks as if October will buck the trend, with temperatures that are forecasted to exceed the 20C barrier.
Met Office predictions make October 2 and 3 the hottest days of the month at 21C, while the usual average temperature for that time of the has been as low as 10C.
Laura Young, spokesperson for the Met Office said: “In the south in the beginning of October we can see a settled forecast for warm weather. It is not an Indian summer but we are forecasting above average temperatures with prolonged periods of sunshine.”
The Met Office will be able to give a more detailed forecast for the start of October on Thursday.
