PARISH councillors in Flax Bourton have said they will carefully consider whether to employ a lawyer to fight off plans to re-open an oil storage depot in the village.Council vice-chairman Roger Huggins told the North Somerset Times the council was to appoint a legal expert to fight off an application by the Oil and Pipelines Agency to re-open a defunct storage depot.But in a statement this week, parish clerk Ruth McNaught said a decision on whether to employ a lawyer had yet to be taken.Miss McNaught said: "Flax Bourton Parish Council would like to confirm that no such resolution was made to employ a lawyer to oppose a planning application from the Oil and Pipelines Agency. "Should a valid application be received, the Parish Council will consider it carefully and make the appropriate recommendations to North Somerset Council planning department.
