A VILLAGE Olympic day planned for this weekend has fallen foul of the weather.

The King George V Playing Fields in Cleeve were set to play host to the special event featuring races, games and stalls on Saturday afternoon.

But heavy rain over the past few weeks have left the area sodden and will be unable to cope according to organiser John Chilcott.

But he promised they would try all they could to make sure it goes ahead later in the year and said he was hopeful it could go ahead in July.
