EGG-STATIC youngsters will be flooding into Weston town centre to the Easter themed unveiling of a floral tribute to Brunel.A spectacular wrought iron train will be placed in Alexandra Parade and revealed at 11am on April 8 - the 200th anniversary of the birth of Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel.Schoolchildren from across North Somerset have been invited to take a drawing of a train to the unveiling ceremony. Each child taking part will receive an Easter egg and inside one will be a golden ticket allowing a family to visit Cadbury World in Birmingham.The North Star Train, which is costing £5,000, is part of the Flower Power campaign and has been sponsored by the Michael family in memory of Axentis Michael.A memorial plaque will be placed by the train dedicating the feature to the well-known Weston hotelier.A floral railway track has been sponsored by Weston Tourism and the horticultural society.Members of the Wayfarers Drama Group will add extra colour to the event by dressing in Victorian costume to entertain the crowds.The train is currently being built by local blacksmith Nathan Bennett at the Old Town Quarry. It will then be placed on the green which used to be a terminus for trains in the 1840s.All the projects in Flower Power, an initiative organised by Weston Tourism and Weston Town Council and supported by the Weston & Somerset Mercury, are aimed at entering the town in Britain in Bloom.
