HELP is at hand from North Somerset Council for residents struggling to shed the pounds.

The council is teaming up with NHS North Somerset by putting together a One Mile Walks booklet with a selection of scenic walks around the district aimed at people who haven’t exercised for a while and need to build up slowly.

A programme of one mile walks will take place every Tuesday at 10.30am from January 25 onwards. To get a copy of the booklet and for details of the walk programme, you can contact the Sport and Active Lifestyles Team at North Somerset Council on 01275 882731 or email
